Six years ago, Naktuinbouw Health, Testing & Analysis switched to the use of sample bags for all leaf tests with PCR and ELISA.
If the samples were not delivered in sample bags, the costs (purchase of the sample bags, the extra time and labor) to transfer samples into sample bags were not charged. As of 1 January 2024, handling costs were charged for samples that were not delivered in sample bags (see current price list).
Small quantities (up to 100 bags) could be requested from Naktuinbouw, free of charge. As of 1 January 2025, Naktuinbouw Health, Testing & Analysis will stop providing sample bags.
Many virus tests nowadays are performed using sensitive methods. As a result, possible infections can be detected at an early stage. Virus tests can also detect any cross-contamination between (sub)samples.
By taking the right samples/delivery, you can prevent cross-contamination when taking the samples. This gives the laboratory a uniform, robust working method. The advantage for you of delivering in sample bags is that the risk of cross-contamination is reduced and the throughput in the laboratory is faster.
You send sample bags open. So you don't have to staple or seal it. If necessary, you can bundle the bags with an elastic band. The outer bag or box must be sealed.
